CHARLES WHITE (1918 - 1979) - uncredited biographical outline of the artist. Though no author's name was obvious, Andrea D. Barnwell's name appeared at the foot of the text, she being the author of Charles White (The David C. Driskell Series of African American Art: Volume I) (San Francisco: Pomegranate, 2002). The reference to Barnwell was followed by: "Betty Lochrie Hoag, "Oral history interview with Charles Wilbert White, 1965, Mar. 9," Smithsonian Archives of American Art. A web address followed, with a note that the site had been accessed by the writer November 21
