Two of Brother John Sellers records that had been cover-illustrated by Charles White (Brother John Sellers Sings Blues and Folk Songs and Jack of Diamonds and Other Folk Songs and Blues - both 1954) were reissued on one CD in 2006. Once again, White's distinctive drawing of a balladeer, mid-song, was used to illustrate the cover of the CD. On this occasion, the singer occupied a light blue background, his shirt was a shade of orange, and his trousers cream. For good measure, the image of the balladeer made an appearance in the centre of the CD cover-cum-booklet, which contained a useful biographical outline of Brother John Sellers, who died in 27 March 1999. The essay was punctuated with several reproductions of the sleeves of the original Vanguard recordings. As useful as the booklet notes were, there was no room in Chris Smith's text for any references to Charles White. (There was though a very interesting reference to Brother John Sellers singing, in 1988, "at a memorial service for the great artist and collage-maker Romare Bearden."
